these boats can be a great option. But we already knew that.

I had an almost identical experience. No actual Macs nearby to test drive. I found this site and all the info sold me on the boat. I bought our boat without stepping foot on it. Luck would have it Blue Water Yachts is an outstanding dealer who outfitted the relatively bare stock mac professionally and perfectly.NiceAft wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 6:29 pm In 2004, when I was looking to purchase an, I did a lot of research on the World Wide Web. There are many bad reviews. I then came across this site. I suddenly realized that all, and I mean all negative comments were made by those who were never on a Mac. All of the positive comments were made by owners. Not just positive, but beaming. Mac owners love their boats

Amen brother!Neo wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 9:59 pm I must admit I get the feeling that I'm watching a review from someone that knows only one 10th of what I know about Macs.... And I don't know that much either
... I'd get a similar feeling if I asked my wife (as she knows all!!!...and can google anything!) how to skydive .... I might take it into account but I wouldn't bet my life on it
I'm also kinda shocked at just how many good reviews Donnie gets... I might email most of those people to ask if they'd like to buy fresh bags of Australian air

Thanks for sharing mac n cheese.
Good point. The mere mention of the Mac power sailers will typically blow up the conversation in the sailing community. Although, I doubt that he did himself any favors by giving them an almost favorable "review". Probably would have been more lucrative to give it the typical "Clorox bottle of death" review that we've all heard ad nauseam.
Me too.

Bags or Air will be bout a million bucks! ... because a bag's are so precious I'll need to sail to each destination (in my Mac) and deliver them personally. Hmmm .... I'm sure some "expert" on the internet will be able to advise me how to make the trip over safely![]()
I do the same thing. Some of this guy's finds seem too fantastic to believe. https://www.youtube.com/c/CaptainQYachtHunter/videos Big (by Mac standards) but cheap. Some are real fixer-uppers, but others seem (casually) too good to be true. Lots of nice wood, plenty of electronics. Wish I new more about the recurring costs... especially the slip and yearly haul-outs. Heck a slip probably will run more than my house payment.dlandersson wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 9:56 am Every winter I go "boat browsing" for deals. Every time I start to circle in on a possible candidate, I keep coming back to the multiple functions on my X. Nothing else can do all the things it does.![]()
