Out of curiosity... did you happen to measure the hull laminate thickness at your hole?
I haven't removed my exhaust thu-hull yet. I can measure it when I do.

I ordered the #602293: Drain Loop from the U.S. Wallas dealer Scan Marine. I also ordered an infrared thermometer so that I can test the temperature of my newly run exhaust and ensure that I don't have any trouble with heat in its new configuration.

I dropped my template off at the countertop manufacture on Saturday. We went with a porcelain top because it's lighter and thinner than most other options. The counter is $612, the sink filler insert is $96, all in (including tax) is $767.47. In a week or so I'll have everything I need to start assembly.

After reading the $11K Mac's with the motors and chart plotters... and I paid near full retail, I was beginning to think I was spending too much on my Mac.

I feel better now. :D :D

That's a marble (I think) counter in their showroom where we laid everything out so that I could explain what I needed. The porcelain remnant they are using actually looks very similar. When I went in to get the quote, I spoke to the owners' son. He was very knowledgeable and helped me formulate my plan. When I went in to drop it off, I was able to talk to the guy who is drawing everything up to do the programming for their waterjet. He took notes on my template showing what edges needed to be polished, what the size of the faucet hole needed to be, etc. I love working with small companies.

I was planning to post pictures of my assembly process. I can also post pictures of the notes on the template if you'd like to see them.

Interested in seeing whatever you want to share about the process. Looking forward to seeing the finished top and assembly process!

I was asking about the plywood, strandboard, or mdf piece with the holes cut in it being your (top pattern). Realize now that I should have been more clear. But, if the porcelain looks similar to their countertop, that will be very nice.

This is a piece of marine plywood that is serving as both my template and support. The porcelain will sit on top of it when I'm done. It gives me something to attach the fiddles to. I'm also trying to upgrade my exhaust and plan to screw supports to the bottom of it.

I picked up the porcelain countertop. Below are some pictures of it laid out on a couple of sawhorses.

Here's the template/support with the sink mocked into place.
Image

Here's a closeup of the notes the counter guys put on the template. This shows that they want to polish and round the edge where the fiddles won't be.
Image

This is the faucet hole. The hole in the marine plywood is big enough to get access to tighten the faucet into place. 15/16" is the size of the hole in the porcelain.
Image

Here's the opening for my stove. They cut the four mounting holes 1/4" diameter in the porcelain. The slot in the upper right is for the lid fan wiring. The cutout in the top middle is for the venting I never had but is specified in the manual. I'm also planning to add aluminum flashing around this opening to act as an additional heat shield.
Image

Here's a view of the vent.
Image

I had them make this insert to cover the sink opening. This will give us extra counter space.
Image

Here's everything laid in place.

I've still got a bunch of work to do to get it all completed, but it's coming together!

That top is beautiful. Always liked the idea of a stove and heater in one small package.

Here's the thickness of my 2001 :macx: where the exhaust exits.

This is right below counter height on the inside.

Thank you for checking. This was great... I was able to zoom-in with your full scale image.

Just for clarity... am I seeing... that the laminate is right at 3/16" thick? Also... I don't see any sign of layers. It almost looks like a uniform core with thin layers of fiberglass on the inside/outside. But, I didn't think our Mac's had cores.

Below is a picture of the "gasket" that is on my thru-hull. It doesn't seem like it will seal very well. It is 20 years old.

Image

I couldn't find replacement gaskets, but Wallas sells the whole thing for $105 [urlhttps://scanmarineusa.com/online-store/1066-exhaust-vent/][/url].

This Isolation Kit might include the gasket https://scanmarineusa.com/online-store/ ... ation-kit/.

Should I try to get a new gasket or is there a sealant that I could use? I could just put some 4200 on it, but I'm not sure about the heat.
