Ahem.
I'm still waiting for my pizza.
Anchovies and olives, please.
(PS, welcome to the club!)

Highlander called it, pizza available sometime after mid Oct if all goes well, so y'all have some time to hook up the ponies and haul your buttinskis out to the coast here. Party at Highlanders with anchovies and olives as well as Hawaiian for those among us who are still human.
Many thanks for upping the game with the beer Kevin, i'm sure there will be many parched throats especially after the journey here and i can think of no better christen for a boat named MahNa MahNa than a beer across the bow.(Do i recall a seance and chanting requirement to rename a precious?)
Thanks Dave, been waiting 13 years to paint that brand.
I'd like to address all that i have learned here in a very simple one liner - boat = hole in water created so that we may be happy, happy , happy throwing in boat bucks.(I understand holes in water to have a huge gravitational effect and are infinite approaching singularity)
Cheers, Bill

Late to the party but Congratulations

!!!
Early Christmas Present?
Hope you have had an opportunity to get wet before the ice formed!
Currently already enough ice here in NH for the neighbor’s Admiral to start ‘ice fishing’ (but why anyone would want to sit on a freshly frozen lake with a string in a hole is beyond me
the day after Christmas when kids are just starting to play with new toys, wrapping paper debris is everywhere, in-laws are coming downstairs to be served
Coffee and
breakfast and ….
hmmm……wait a minute….I think I may have discovered why she is out there…..
….
Again, Congratulations on your new to you Mac!
Best Regards

Welcome to the club. Similar story for me - I joined the forum almost 6 years ago and lurked a few years before that. I only took the plunge and actually bought a boat 8 months ago.WD wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 5:14 pm But
from a gentleman in the interior of BC.
She will be returned to her home waters off the coast of southern BC and she will be rebranded MahNa MahNa unless the muppet police catch up to me and are deeply offended.
THE Admiral is known as Shauna(AKA Cinnamon - i will leave this to your imagination) and she is the only one of us who has had the privilege of piloting her so far. I am looking forward to relearning everything i learned here from you fine folks over the years, and will hopefully still live long enough to earn a few captain stars. A special thanks to those of you who have more personally guided me over the years.
If any of you feels so moved, please feel free to start a boat buck go fund me - the Admiral will be deeply appreciative.
Cheers, Bill
If you have a roller furler headsail, make sure your pin is not a simple detent on and that is a bolt or a fastener with a wing ding. If you and your wife are not experienced sailors, then I suggest just using the headsail to practice, furling as needed when it's too windy. That's working well for me and my friends as I teach them how to sail.

Re: It only took about 13 years...
Thanks IF, Happy New Year to you and to all here. I do have significant sailing experience with a 16' Cat in my misspent youth but only power in between then and now, so it will take some easy outings to get into the swing of things and learn the ropes again, don't want to take anyone OB with the boom on a jibe.
I'm with you on secure fasteners tho, i do not like loose ends and having done a bunch of sport flying and a bit of car racing, bikes and a costly fascination with things mechanical I tend to be fastidious about such things, and i do like redundancy. Unfortunately a roller furler is going to be one of the many things that will gobble up boat bucks, but for the most part the Salish Sea here is known for pretty darn modest winds in the 10 knot range when you are fortunate enough to have wind at all.
Cheers, Bill

Which is why a Genoa is important. In those very low wind conditions, that big sail is a world of difference.the Salish Sea here is known for pretty darn modest winds in the 10 knot range when you are fortunate enough to have wind at all.

Thanks Over Easy,
I will take a bye on the ice fishing, had my file of that as a boy in Canada's north - Great Slave Lake, and many things to do before i get her in the water here, not even insured yet waiting on survey. And with my glaring lack of experience on the ocean i think patience the better part of survival - will wait til temps are seasonal despite the lack of ice on the sea.
Cheers, Bill
