Gelcoat question

Can anybody tell me whether gelcoat is an epoxy or acrylic or something else.

not sure, but if you need some original gelcoat, Bill at boats4sail has some you can buy (I did, but haven't used it yet)

Ive got the gelcoat ,I just need to know what hardener I need.

I talked with bill at the factory, he said MEKP. Not sure what proportions, but probably similar to other gelcoat. I usually just guess when I have done it in the past in white...LOL. I know..real scientific...

Are you going to spray it? might need a thinner (acetone I think)

About 5 drops per ounce of gelcoat......or there abouts. Too much will make it cook (bubbles). I have thined it with acetone, but styrene works better.
