Cutter Rig

Highlander,
Where are the two forestays attached? To the same hound or did you put in a second hound, one of the forestays would have to be longer to reach that bow extension.

Terry

I added a second mast hound approx 3/4 up the mast I did not have to lenghten the original genoa forestay all I did was add one of these approx 8" quick releases under the furler drum & that gave me the extra length I needed to come out 3ft onto the 4ft bowsprit. The next movie will show the full mast rigging I'll post later tonight but I'm out in the boonies & only have dail-up & it takes about 1hr to upload one short movie

Lovely looking set-up. Obviously a lot of work gone in there.

Just one question: Why is the stay-sail sheeted in so close? It looks like it is hooking to windward in a big way.

Ya I was expermenting with self-tacking have since added 4ft genoa tracks to each side of cab top & installed 4 stand-up adjustable block sheet cars one set for the stay sail & the other for the genoa see the second photo shows port side track & cars

Ahh, the joys of re-designing and building your own boat! Glad to hear it's going well though. :)

I knew I've been offline quite awhile, but my post above makes me realize I haven't been around since August! My how time flies...

Take care.
