Nice article, thanks for sending.

Saw your photobucket, they - cool stuff. We should all have one, or share one album so we can add snaps of the boats.

Duane Dunn, Allegro
Kind of takes the Container Sailboat to its uppermost level. The $5000 cost of shipping certainly beats slogging it out over weeks of water doldrums, not to mention the pirates, floating objects, ships or corrupts militant operations.

The article says it's a 2005 Mac. It isn't! that interior is definitely pre 2005.

What's with "bullet proof" :o

The Text Read:

While the newly-released 2005 MacGregor
26M has an upgraded interior, with an innovative sliding galley
bench mechanism that can be moved up and down the port side, this
older model simply has a galley area that can be fitted out depending
on the needs of the owner.

The writing made reference to:

For while MacGregor might be better known in Europe for its trailer
sailing, Raymond is particularly looking forward to the UAE debut
of the MacGregor 75, which he hopes to bring in next year.

Has anyone read anything about a UAE debut of a “New 75’ MacGregor?
I assume the “Bullet Proof” referred to the 26 having met all his needs?

The Tide video: Could be another good Large Trailerable Sailboats, and said to have an offshore rating, also expensive.

Oden 820 Video…. Does not appear to tack well, very slow coming about in the video, with genoa back-winded. Long Video needs to be re-run for smooth viewing.

Instead of containering the boat around the world would it be better to swap boats with those in other countries? With the amount of boats out there now perhaps it could work similar to the time share concept. Just an idea.

Upon retirement, the Major (Now Major, promotable) and I will be doing bare-bones charters in different locations, while maintaining a stateside homestead. Pencils out much better this way.

As will the Boss and I. We however are leaning towards Sunsail.

The Charter ownership program takes care of a hefty portion of your payments and the # of locations around the globe that you can trade time at is amazing. When you trade time you trade on a similar yacht.

Thats about as "Big" as she'll let me go. Gotta have a home address attached to a house says she.

This is the boat she wants, http://www.sunsail.com/yachts/fleet/cat ... oon_s2_380
No leaning!!

So...$5K to ship the Mac to Europe (AND then $5K to ship it back) and still no shower, marine head, or big boat galley or storage and room....I just don't know. I don't see that being a huge market...but then again, it is Europe and people don't shower every day, have you ever been on the Italian Subway in August? :D

I’ll report back if I see any Mac’s from Palermo.

(I am Italian...so I can poke fun at "my people")
