We remove the Mac cushions from the stern berth and use a foam hide-a-bed mattress, either for-and-aft or athwarthsip. Fitted sheets and regular size blankets will fit it.
Or, you could just put it on top of the Mac cushion.
The Mac cushions are just made to fill up the space.

Bill, I'll go you one better. I removed the stock cushions and put in a queen sized camping air matress. It fits perfectly, albiet a little tight across the berth, and of course takes standard sheets. Get a good one with the fuzzy stuff on top. Not the really thick ones, as they will cut into the room, but don't get one of those thin float toys either...

Beene, I must say that this may cramp your style a bit, as there isn't much room that way. But, we have to be discrete anyway, as we usually have 3 kids onboard, if both of us are... Of course, for the sounds of it, any restrictions at all would likely have some "cramping" effect on your style...although, I doubt you let much actually deter you...

For sleeping, though, its the way to go...

Yeah, a queen size camping air matress will fit across the boat. Its just a bit long, but its an air matress, so you can make it fit...

Gotta love the air/water bed action...

Also, I look at it as extra floatation to support the weight of the motor and all the other extras, should the need arise... I don't know that its really up to the job. But, its nice to think it is...

We had a water bed, had to give it up, making to many waves after hours, the noise the bubbles made were...... too distracting

Yes. The only time it comes out is when I need to get under it... Then, you just let the air out and it rolls up nicely... Its also VERY light, so, if you just need under it to quickly grab something from the bilge, you just lift it up, rather than deflating it...

Note that a queen size air matress laid across the aft berth is not as wide as the aft berth is deep. So, in my case, we have a foot or so of storage space between the matress and the transom area...

With that config, it sounds like there is definitely enough room for that very nice cabin mod.

Mirrors thats old stuff . now mini camera in the aft birth corner large plasma screen across the aft birth opening. Beene tells me that way you don't miss nothing & the "little Guy" look's reall good on the big screen & better get an air matteress won't want to see you hurt yourself punching a hole through the bottom of that hull just trying to give you little pointer's . Just occur to me why you want me to tag along on these extended boat trips with my boat am I being designated the tobe baby sitter while this is all going on
Now lets see teach #1 duaghter how to mix my scotch 2 ice cubes just add little water, teach #2 duaghter how to pour my beer into a nice cold glass I'll turn them into good bar tenders that some guy will appreciate 20yrs from now

Now if their just happened to be a third older baby say around my age she could dish out the snacks you might just sucker me in with that

How thick is you mattress I have a double air one but it is about 8" thick . I think that would be to tight , I have been loking around for a 4" one but have not found one yet except for the long skinny tube type & their not very comfortable

Highlander, you better be careful...them's fighten words in some parts of the country...

I haven't laid eyes on the matress since November. So, I don't know for sure. Yeah, too thick and you don't have enough clearance to be comfortable. Too thin and you don't have enough matress...

I dunno what to tell you, other than to try what you got and go from there...

for those that are looking to buy a mattress, I bought the mid-range decent quality matress. Not the real high end, and definately not those really tall/thick ones. Also, not the low end pool float toy...
