A hybrid for MacGregor aficionados
I was browsing the web the other day and opened a page on Toyota's new 2008 Highlander. What impressed me most is that, according to the press release, the hybrid version due out in September will also have the option of "a tow package with a 5000-lbs. maximum towing capacity." Wow! That's good news for those who tow MacGregors.

Here is a photo
Maybe the Highlander Hybrid and Hilux are the same vehicle --just sold on different continents. The current model will only tow 3500 lbs., but it looks like the 2008 model could handle a MacGregor with pounds to spare. Like the previous model, it is still supposed to get 31 (city) and 27 (highway) MPG. Not bad!
I would include a photo of it, but the system is blocking me from doing so because I haven't posted enough messages in the forum --yet.
At any rate, you could take a closer look by opening "toyota[dot]com" and clicking the link toward the bottom of the page labeled "See the all-new 2008 Highlander."

It looks like your highlander is our Prado.
They have the same motor gearbox's (or did) and are more for town use, we need every bit of space in our trayback single cab to cart all the extras and the tinny.
The hilux is border line (maybe over) for weight carrying but pulls great with the 3l turbo diesel.
We really should upgrade to the Toyota landcruiser tray but they are a truck compared to the Hilux.
If I upgrade to a Cruiser we will spend the extra money and buy a Mac 28 which is a larger version of the X (wishfull thinking).
