My 1998 came with the removeable step which sits on the hump with the vent. If I ever come across a ladder like yours, the hump is history.
The companion way ladder swings up out of the wat to gain better entry to the berth. the should be a hump step over the vent but the PO mounted that on top of the stearing column and put a gauge in it..so looking for another hump step if any one has one going cheap.

I believe all the interior cushions are there, there all rolled up and sealed in bin liners.

As for price.....i sold my 26S for £11000 which i belive was the most expensive 26S in the UK. i was amazed as i put it up for sale on the friday evening at 21:00hrs and got a messege at 21:38 hrs. the guy can to see it on the sunday and bought it there and then..ive been watching 26S's on web sites over here and most have been up for sale for months..i must say though it is the cleanest 26S i have ever seen and everyone commented on how good it was.

The 26X was advertised at £12000. and i got it for £11100..pretty happy with that as i now have what i want..

I will make a note of the serial number and post it on here if anyone knows how to read them maybe they can tell me exactlt what year it is??
I get her tomorrow and ive alreadt got the power washer and cleaning kit in the car so i can start on her as soon as i get her back to her spot.
We named the last one after the missus "Christina" and we've been trying to figure out what to name the new one, we came up with "Letina" for Lee & Tina, what do you think? ive been trying to find a definition for the name but i dont think one exist's except for "salb letina"..some sort of tree.
Anyone got any idea's??

Cheers guys

Unusual mod moving the hump step and using it on the steering column?? As for "having fun" cleaning it... ummmm I will leave that for those that like to, personally I prefer to sail CaSam than clean her!!

Where abouts are you going to sail?
Maybe see you on the water?

Good luck and I hope that you really enjoy your :macx: - I Do!!

There will be a 96, 97, 98 or 99 in the last digits of the serial and thats the year. the first series of numbers are the production unit # of the series.

For example, my unit is: MACX0765G697
Its a 1997 and the 765th one built.

As for names, how about TinaLee. Unless that would cause internal strife.

We sail at Rutland Water in Leicestershire, not bad sailing and a good size lake.

Im sure the number has 95 at the end thats why i thought it was a 1995 but someone said the dont do those steps on a 1995..as for the name..we wanted something a bit different..LeTina is just a but different...dont you think?

Cheers

Well as promised a few more pics.

We got the new boat back to her spot yesterday, no motor as there is no battery, and the centre board wont go down cause its been lying on its trailer for the past two years.

Started with a quick power wash just to get most of the crap off and off to bed for an early day today.

The other half and i got there nice and early and stripped everything out, emptied the bilges and started cleaning. stopped for a quick lunch and worked through the whole day, and i have to say my better half did an amazing job. three bottles of fabreeze, three bottels of CIF powerspray, three sponges, countless buckets of hot water and i cant remember how muchother cleaning stuff. spent about £60 just on cleaning products for the inside...what do you think??

Madguy, the last photo says it all! That look of ...How can I clean this up already says something.
I bought my used 97 macx with no trailer (that is what I wanted) and a boat that seen many years of Non Tender care, but since I got it for $7500 2-1/2 yrs ago I new I could bring her up to what I wanted with new Tandem Trailer and all the mods I planned for under the going used sales price of $12-14,000 and all new stuff just increases value and demand.
Have fun enjoying your Mac.X !

Well its finally happend, ive done the deal and now im the proud owner of a 26X.

Its one of the first one's a 1995 (but its all i could afford)

Picking it up saturday and the first thing on the agenda is a good power wash to get rid of the crap as it hasn't been used for over a year.

One question,,what lock do you use to secure the motor to the hull?? it doesn't have one at the moment..

Well as promised more pics of my new X after a weekend with a power washer and some industrial strength cleaner.

The big thing left for cleaning now is to get rid of the limescale marks along the water line, i thought some Cilit Bang bathroom might do the job but open to suggestions.

Put a new battery on and cranked the engine over and it fired up first time and ran as sweet as a nut..no smoke, plenty of water out of the tell tale and really quite.

now i have to figure out how the Bimini stays up, at the moment im useing bungy straps and got to look at the wiring or bulb for the mast light.

First thing to make is my covered lazy jack (just purchased a sewing machine off ebay) and then i want to do some major mods on the galley, found a great one on this site.

All good fun and plenty to do when the weather gets crappy and not sailing.

Cheers

Wow!
Those interior pics look like a brand new boat! Amazing!

The limescale might need something stronger. I'd try some vinegar on it with a pot scrubber.

That is one freaking amazing cleanup job. It is obvious that the previous owner didn't use it that much. No scratches everything still looks like it is in good working shape. You got what we call here in America the old Dodge for sale sitting in the barn story here. You see this add in the paper and go to the farm and find a 1968 Dodge Daytona under the hay that has been sitting there since 1970 when the old ladies son died in Vietnam and she is selling it for $1500 bucks because she has no idea what she has. You my friend are that marine version totally awesome.

Thanks for all the comments guys, i have to say that without the better half doin the inside it would have taken so much longer than it did. at least we can get out sailing now and do the rest bit by bit.

Cheers

I have the exact same Bimini, except is a little darker tan. It comes with straps to attach it to the rails but they are a pain to get on and off so I use bugees also :) they way you have it attached is fine. I attach my bugees to the little metal looks where the life lines attach. Quick and easy, up and down.

As other said....nice clean up :!:
