Parachute for a boat cover over winter

Post by Buzz »

Has anyone tried covering their boat with a parachute? I have a 35 foot parachute and was wondering if that would do a good job keeping leaves and dirt out. I figure it will not damage the gel coat since it is a softer material than a tarp.

Leaves and dirt yes, but that is about all. If it is real silk as my was, ( I used it to cover an old car) bird dropping will eat right thru it and of course rain and snow will soak thru. So to use it in a large garage or barn would be good...but not real useful out in the weather.

Silk parachute..Is it still in jumping shape.. :?: Whats that worth..

I bought a 30` x 20` tarp for $40.00. That lasted over 6 years.

It's silk great shape makes a great trampoline cover purchased for around $50. Water does go through but not concerned about snow since I live in the south.
