Adding Circuits up the Mast

Post by ESPERANZA »

Has anyone added more wiring up their mast to accomodate extra lights such as spreader lights? What did you use for an electrical connector at the deck?

Here's what you need... Aquasignal waterproof plug/connector.

My boat had one of these installed already (for the anchor, steaming, and foredeck lights), and I recently added another for a wind speed/direction instrument.

It has 5 pins (one intended for use as a common/ground).

Deck Connector

West Marine Model No. 184226, $17, 4-conductor is the one I used. I use one pin for ground, one for spreader light, one for horn and one goes to a switch in the mast for steaming light OR anchor light as they will never be lighted at the same time.
