snorkel for ballast tank?

Post by Richard O'Brien »

:macm: I know this topic was recently hashed out, but I can't find the thread. In any case, I just spotted a snorkel in a bargains bin, so i snatched it up. the thought here is to somehow attach it to ballast "air exhaust" so I won't have to leave the wheel Just as i'm pulling away from the dock trying to avoid the clutter of small craft, and not having to worry about water sloshing around the bow. yes i know once the water line has been reached it pretty much stops, but some kind of an "auto-plug' really appeals to me. are there any industrial quality snorkels that won't leak even when keeled over at 30 degrees? Who knows about these things?
