Deck/Cabin parts, guidance? (Cabin Hatch) 90 26s

Post by InsuredEnough »

Hello all,

I am a recent owner of a '90 26s and noticed some issues that I will need to address

I am still learning the names for the things on this boat, so please...some patience.

The Sliding Horizontal Cabin Hatch appears to be almost unserviceable. Can this be repaired or ordered somewhere?
there is almost nothing to slide in the rails, damage and missing edging makes it difficult to move.

:macm: :?:

Hello,
I think you will be stuck doing a fiberglass repair of the hatch feet. After that use velcro loop felt as slide feet and it will be smooth and easy to open/close.

How about making a new one all together out of wood, looks great!

It sure is nice. I don't know who's boat it is, I want to say Beamreach, but I'm not sure. I just saved the pic to my scrap book, take a look. There's no order to the pic's they're all just thrown in there. http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d64/d ... k/?start=0

What would make a mod like that even more cool, would be to put a little bit of an arch on it. But it's nice the way it is.
