Hello all, hoping someone can help me out with some basic rigging questions. I took a photo but uploading it went beyond my patience so I will have to try and paint a mental picture.
I have a 1988 26D. There are 2 tracks located next to the winches with sliding cars that i have used for the 150% genoa sheets. The tracks are 1" T tracks, beginning at the furthest point to the stern of the deck, just before it drops into the cockpit. The tracks are about 2 feet long, running fore/aft. The cars set with a screw pin, they have a 3/4" eye mounted sideways on them--you can look through it fore/aft.
Recently I lost one of the cars. In looking for a replacement, I have found that this type of car (that does such a good job leading the genoa sheet to the winch) is commonly referred to as a spinnaker pole attachment, so i am wondering whether it is for one or the other or both. Without a fairlead, the genoa sheet is prone to popping off the winch and definitely will not stay on the cam cleat.
I am wondering if these were standard on the 88 26D or if it was an aftermarket mod.
Any thoughts on where I can locate another car, or if I should buy two with a different type of genoa car that has the ring mounted sideways which seems to be more common.
Thanks,

Re: 26D basic rigging questions
Generally, the tracks on the cabin are for jib cars (105 and less headsail) and folks put genny tracks on the cockpit coaming for the genny. This allows the sheets to be run outside of the shrouds. Best gear for these tracks are swivel cleats,

in combination with a sliding, spring mounted block.

thanks for the reply, funny how that picture has a $1 bill--I think it would be more appropriate to have a $100 bill sitting there... Ah, one of the many joys of BOAT (bust out another thousand) ownership!

Re: 26D basic rigging questions
I have a 89D and it has the exact jib lead set up that you describe. I believe this is the factory set up, not aftermarket. Additionally these leads work very well with the stock size genoa for the boat. The 'O" ring slides are similiar to gin pole or spinnaker pole slides but smaller and I am not sure where you can find a replacement. Call BWY in Seattle and see if they carry them. The working jib sheets route through the black (probably now grey) guide fairleads further forward on the cabin top.
