Re: What Did Santa Bring You This Year?
The Admiral sought fit to gift LAIKA with a KENYON EXPRESS II Portable Gas Range as a suppliment to the existing ORIGO Alcohol Stove. Quicker Coffee and TWO cooking surfaces!
The ample West Marine gift card is well received too. Even the Walmart Gift card I received will eventually be used for boating!
And to all my fellow sailors.................
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an
environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender
neutral, celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable
traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your
choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others,
or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all and a fiscally
successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset
of the generally accepted calendar year 2011, but not without due respect for the
calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make
America great (not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country
or is the only "AMERICA" in the western hemisphere), and without regard to the
race, creed, color, age, physical disability, religious faith, choice of computer platform,
or sexual preference of the wishee.
Legal Disclaimer: By accepting this agreement, you are accepting these terms.
This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no
alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually
implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others, and is void where prohibited by
law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher.
This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good
tidings for a period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting,
whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance
of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.
Sincerely,
(Name withheld for legal, social and cultural considerations.)

Hoaglandr,
Depending on the view, since there was no YEAR "0", the coming Year will be the 2011th year of our current calendar system.

Re: What Did Santa Bring You This Year?
Well I must have been pretty good this year...I got an anchor sail kit from sail rite and a used mason supreme anchor. Two items that will really help with my cruising next year. How did Santa know what I wanted??

It was in your letter to him - - - and you circled those items in the catalogues
Rick
PS What I got was SERVED with divorce papers on Christmas Eve day (12/24). Thank goodness that happened before she got her presents (a chain saw so she could do some heavier work around the yards and a bunch of Calgon Intensive Care bath stuff and bath beads so she can get rid of that smell when she finishes the work) Thoughtful, huh? - - -and this is how I'm rewarded

Re: What Did Santa Bring You This Year?
I must have been a good boy, 'cause Santa brought me an Extend-A-Truck hitch mounted support T-bar and a set of fitted fiberglass cradles, so we can car-top our Hobie Tandem Island water toy. Some of the great access points to South Florida sailing waters are not especially trailer-friendly, so it's nice to have this new flexibility.

Makes it easier to pass the time in warm weather during the winter holidays, while our
sits at home awaiting the arrival of spring on the Chesapeake.

Re: What Did Santa Bring You This Year?
I got a squall jacket from my boat, and a couple of shirts with the boat name embroidered on it.
