Length of shifter cable

Post by WhiskeyTango »

Thanks for replies to above "Throttle lever stiff in reverse" post. Now I should buy a new shifter cable. Anyone know the proper length for the shifter cable (one that shifts the transmission from forward to neutral to reverse) and the best brand?

so many variables to this...routing, controls etc. I want to clean up my installation but I think I will use a length of house wire or something like that and play with it until I come up with a route and length I like

Just a follow up. Replaced throttle and shifter cables with Suzuki brand cables and it shifts more easily now. Not as smooth as controls on a
Grand Banks we chartered, but tolerable. Cables for the M model are 10 ft long.
