how to wash fusion covers

Post by jasonsjwou »

Can I wash the cushion covers in a washing machine?
Will it damage the cover or the washer?

How about the cushion on V berth or rear berth? How do you guys clean them?

Thank you in advance.

We bought our boat a couple of months ago, a 2003 X, and we washed the covers in the gentile cycle. Only one fell apart. The cushion covers appeared to be original from 2003. Our problem was there were smells emanating from the cushions that would not go away so we bought new foam and new material to cover them with. So wash on gentle cycle or by hand and you should be ok. If it is wash them or replace them give washing a try it is a lot easier than making new ones.

I had some fiberglass repairs done in the cabin (after a lightning strike) by the thieves @ Ols_n Marine in Fort Myers Beach Florida who did not cover anything when they did the sanding ! :x When I finally got the boat back I took all of the cushions to Stanley steamer who did a great job, cleaned every cushion and did not damage any of them. just a suggestion...
