Enjoying a Christmas Day Sail on our 26s

Post by FlyboyTR »

After the fog lifted a little...we set sail, departing from The Steel Magnolia. It was a great day. This is a short 5 minute video.

Great video. Bizarre weather we're having. You guys have spunk going out today. I've been trying to figure out what the weather was up to all day. Glad you guys had a good trip.

And... Merry Christmas to you also.

Jimmy,
It really wasn't all that bad...way more thrilling in the River with the channeling winds...always a surprise! We are going to start looking at tomorrow's weather later this evening. If all looks pretty good, we may try to sail to the Island and spend the night. If it doesn't look good, we'll just take another non-destination sail like we did today. You should join us?

Sounds like fun. The kids are in for the holidays and we're in full holiday/kid mode. Lots of social commitments, but thanks for the invite. Looking forward to meeting up with you guys when schedule allows. You've got the boat looking good!

Thanks,
I have been talking with Judy B and will be ordering a new mainsail as soon as they return from Christmas break. At some point I am going to add a johnson lever to the bottom of the roller furling...which will mean cutting the cable and swaging on a new top end piece. Once I have those numbers...she will then get the genoa ordered. I really don't want to order it based upon my assumption of what the length will be along the luff. 2 inches to short would be ok...but a inch too long would be a disaster. At least things are moving!

Please stay in touch and we will look forward to meeting up with you and sailing the Bay. Merry Christmas!

Travis :)
