Spin Launch Bag

Ok so I tried my hand a sewing for the fist time in about 30 years. Had purchased a spin launch bag kit from Sailrite a while ago and have been racing single handed so I have not been flying the spin. Going to enter Dallas race week this weekend and will have experienced crew so needed a better spin launch bag. Everything went good time will tell on how well it is stitched up. It is not pretty but will be functional.

Kudos for being able to stitch one up yourself. I don't have the ability, so I found this to be an inexpensive and very functional launch bag.

Did you add a clip to secure bag to stantion or lifeline when deployed? Cant see one in the photo.

Yes it has two clips to attach to the fore stay. I will also add some grommets at the top ring to tie it down to the bow pulpit.

Launch bag appears to work great. Used it yesterday durning the first race of Dallas Race Week. Our fleet consists of 2 Macgregor 26D's (Wings and Crazy Horse) and me. Races were canceled today due to no wind

Hope we will get the last race in tomorrow. What ever boat I beat tomorrow I beat for the regatta since I got a 2nd on the first race.

We bought kit from Sailrite about 40 years ago when we had our V222. Turned out nice. Yours looks great! Hook 'em Horns!! Fair Winds and Full Sails...Old Salt.
