Forestay replacement any tips?

Post by Floridacracker »

I was working on the boat today and noticed the upper forestay connected at the mast had two broken strands. I ordered a new one from BWyachts. I also have a CDI furler and was wondering if anyone had some pro tips.

Take pictures when you disassemble but it's pretty straight forward. Cdi manuals are available online (here to I think?) Two sets of hands make it really easy. Should take less than an hour your first time. Maybe consider doing your shrouds or any other masthead attachments you want while you've got it down.
