Happy holidays everybody !
Was taking inventory yesterday and found the two rudders inside the cabin.
My question is what size bolt and nut do I need to attach the rudders to the boat - I went on blue water yachts website but all I can find is the
rudder adjustment bolt assy
Thanks for all help and advice
Pete

Re: 26M Rudders
Just happen to have mine off the boat...

(1) 2.5" x 3/8" SS Hex bolt
(1) 3/8" SS Nut with Nylon lock
(2) 1.5" SS Fender Washers
The two fender washers were used as spacers between the FG rudders and the SS rudder stock. There were no other washers on the outside of the rudderstock bracket under the nut or bolt head.

Re: 26M Rudders
You're welcome.
You can use the stuff from Lowe's/HomeDepot which is Stainless Steel 304. These appear to be Stainless Steel 304 (seeing the slight rusting) and will never be the failing part. Bolts this big have a double-shear strength of nearly 15,000 pounds! The rudder, rudder stock and the rest of the boat will be in shreds long before these break. If you're a perfectionist, look for Stainless Steel 316 that is a little bit better in harsh conditions... the ocean.
