Battery-powered AC on a 26X

Post by LordElsinore »

I saw this in my YouTube feed today. I didn't realize these kinds of battery-powered AC units existed. What a world we live in!

Interesting that he (is he on this forum?) runs it inside the boat. I think if I were to do this I would make a way to mount it outside when in use and feed a tube or two into the boat instead of the other way around. I'd still want intake air to be from inside to reduce the humidity, but unit outside would probably be more quiet, no need for exhaust hose and no need to collect the condensate water

Looks impressive though! From their site it looks like the cost for this model is between $1200 - $3000 or so depending on how many battery packs you get.

Charging up those battery packs via solar during the day when energy is plentiful so you can use them at night without draining the house battery seems ideal

Very interesting. It's a stand alone A/C like those residential units. The difference is that it is ultra-portable.

He's using a Blue Yeti for power. I suppose you could power many air conditioners from one of those.

It ain't cheap at $1,400 plus another $1000 for the battery.

His other videos show the unit in use. Seems to work well for him.
