I need a new prop for my Nissan 40d. I have a hard time finding a prop in the St Louis area. I was at Cabelas and they had a prop by comprop that would work on it. It was a 4 blade rather than a 3 blade. It was only $69.
I figure since I am new to sailing it would hurt to start with a prop that is easily or cheaply replaced.
please let me know if anyone has any experience with these props. Is 4 blades better than 3?
Thanks Jim
Anyone have experience with comprops?

I like those composite props, and I especially like a 4-blade prop -- less vibration & much smoother.
I bought an "open-box" Comprop at WstMar. However, I believe their lowest choice of pitch is 17 inches ... way too much for my Suzuki-60. It now rests in my garage, along with a half-dozen others. If you found one for your 40 that is pitched at 11 or 12, I'd say go for it!
