I can raise my mast in 10 minutes.
Of course if I want it to stay up ,I have to make a lot of connections etc etc then its a little less than an hour.

look everyplace but a boat store.
When I'm looking for something for the boat. I try a camper world type store first. They have lots of things that are exactly like the boat item but an 1/2 the price. Today I went to home depot and bought about $20.00 worth of blocks and clips and rings etc. I'll throw them in the parts box and if I...

crack
How about a crack in a manifold. The carbs are set so that it idles ok. PLace your hand over the carb with out the crack and it dies out. No air. Place your hand over the two where the crack is, and it draws air thru the crack and still keeps running. I'm not a boat mechanic, I used to repair lawnmo...

cook stove
I bought one of the stoves for $20.00 from kmart a a few years ago. It wasn't a coleman , just a stove that took a $2.00 gas bottle I used to put it on a swim platform . we cooked just about every meal on that stove. Its easy to store the bottles ( we used on average 2 a year) If there is a problem ...

copper bronze
Back in the 60's I used copper bronze paint. You were suppose to paint on a dry day with temps over 60 and under 80. the boat was to be painted in the morning and launched with in 6 hours or so (according to the can) Talk about nasty stuff. Especially when you sanded it in the spring. That copper br...

sanding and paintin
I hit the bottom with a 1/3 sheet vibrating sander using a fine paper. smooth it and scrape off any nasties. NOTE :you will want to wear some type of mask when sanding. Its more dangerous breathing it in while sanding it. You get all those poisons in the air. Not a good thing for you. Plus some eye ...

heres something to build for your mac while you wait.
Get some wood and build a dock box.
Make it smaller and you can use it as a step to get into the boat.
When leaving the dock, you can store covers or what ever you don't need to take with you. I keep a bucket and soaps and sponges in my box .

bottom
If theres stuff growing on the bottom , enough to the point that you need it cleaned, Then maybe its time for more paint.
I would buy a few quarts of bottom paint and put it on. Its not that hard!
And not much more expensive than paying someone to clean it.

I was really cold today . So I got my beer, shut the fridge and went out into the 75 degree sunshine. Theres dolphin swimming about a 1/4 mile away, the fish are jumping trying to escape. A Pelican just flew buy. The sails are up and its time to turn off the puter and head out. Enjoy the snow.

If you think its a cavitation problem, one way to tell is to look at the prop. If your starting to see little dings or pin pricks in the prop. meaning its not as smooth as it was. This can be a sign of cavitation. Air ( bubbles )getting under and into the prop area. Then check the zincs. If they loo...
