Re: Can anyone help identify this 26M Part?
Thanks you Jimmy T. That is of great help. It's reassuring to know it a lot simpler than I had feared. I appreciate the guidance.

Re: Can anyone help identify this 26M Part?
My next challenge is reattaching the rudder posts. I just realized the rudder post sits above the rudder post bracket (not the other way around) but my main question is does the rudder post go through a waterproof flange when it goes through the hull to the linkage? What stops the water entering th...

Re: Can anyone help identify this 26M Part?
Well, if you have an extra $170 laying around, you can order the motor quick disconnect kit. It will get you the later link while upgrading you to the quick disconnect - which, I believe, greatly enhances the sailing experience. When you're trying to steer with a big outboard flopping around, it re...

Re: Can anyone help identify this 26M Part?
Hi JimmyT, Thanks. I initially though steering linkage too but the piece is shaped like an umbrella handle, whereas all the steering linkages I have seen curve to right angle. It is the earlier version... https://i.postimg.cc/jwZ0c9tt/IMG-1852.jpg Brilliant...Thanks you JimmyT...I wont throw it awa...

Re: Can anyone help identify this 26M Part?
That's the stock factory diving snorkel, used with a mask, for topping up your blinker fluid - the tank for which is located in an extremely poorly thought-out location on early :macm: 's. :macx: 's, of course, have always used solid-state blinkers. Perfect! When I find the blinker fluid reservoir ...

Re: Can anyone help identify this 26M Part?
And here is the stock linkage (mine has the quick disconnect kit mounted). https://i.postimg.cc/7fQ2JWk8/IMG-1850.jpg Roughly 15" from the outboard connection to the rudder arm connection hole. https://i.postimg.cc/682GrfW7/IMG-1851.jpg And about a 5" offset... Looks to match up pretty go...

Re: Can anyone help identify this 26M Part?
I have no idea what that could be. The end with 4 holes looks like it has been inside something else. The 4 holes may have been to allow it to rotate 90 degrees before having a pin or bolt inserted to keep it in place. Do you have a flange or other type of fitting with at least 2 holes it it that t...

Can anyone help identify this 26M Part?
Hi All, I'm a new owner of a :macm: and it was purchased stripped down of all the fittings. The previous Owner gave me all the parts including this curious J shaped pipe and it's the only part I have no idea about. Its made of 1" tubular stainless steel. It almost looks like it could be a ladde...

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll try butyl tape and see how that holds up.

Re: EVA Foam Synthetic Teak Decking
Here's a great video of a Canadian couple who installed it and I reckon it came out great. I'll probably do the same.

Deck Fitting O Rings
Hi Mac Owner Colleagues, I've just purchased a '08 MacGregor :macm: and the previous owner has stripped off every external and internal fitting with the intent to rebuild/replace but has decided to sell instead. It's a real project boat, stripped completely inside and out, so I'm trying to learn as ...
