Re: Best way to shorten CDI furler?
When you raise the mast [using the winch] just crank it a little more, so you can attach the furler easily. Save you a lot of work.

I made my own. A piece of hardwood lath, with six slots cut in it and a gatehouse safety latch. It adjusts from about a inch to eight inches, or you can open it all the way. The best thing about it is, I can close it with my foot when I go to sleep at night. jim

Re: Wheel wrap mod
I went to the auto parts place and paid 7 or 8 dollars for a steering wheel cover. Drilled holes in it to drain and its been good for 15 years.

Re: might be a record
An afterthough. My steering broke in late august. But with a fiberglass pole mounted to the motor with pipe clamps, a small piece of line, two small pulleys on the rear docking cleats and some double sided tape behind the steering wheel spokes, I had a damm fine steering system. I could have used it...

might be a record
After 14 seasons my morse steering gave up. It's not at the steering wheel, the wheel still grips and moves the cable, I can see in the pedistal. I figured I would go to the motor end, pull out the broken cable and shove up a new one. About 10 minutes into my work I came to that inch long nut where ...

Re: lazy jacks
In spring 2012 on my morining walks, I spotted two pieces of 1 3/4 painted white aluminum pipe. I think they were for the top of a pool swim ladder. They were u shaped and I made them more v shaped. I bolted them to the bottom of my boom ( not so easy) and topped them off with whiffle balls. I have ...

Is there really enough room in that hole with the rope in to push a tent pole down?

Re: Tohatsu 40 impeller
For what its worth, I have a 99x with a 40hp 93 tohatsu. I have never changed the impeller. I get a stream, not great, but enough I think. I have run the motor since 1999. The boat has been great, but the motor more great. Never had a problem with it. jim nolan

Cat. Looks like this is going away, so I can hijack it. I want to make a new post, but I can't find the right button to push. I can see how to post a new mod and reply to a post, but not how to make a new one. jim nolan
