Re: Two person M mast raising without winch pole?

My MRS was connected to the boat the day we bought it in 2008 and has never been removed. Just disconnect the baby stays and hook them to the bottom of the pole when not in use. Winch handle has never been an issue. We made a padded cover for the winch to keep the weather out and we just tighten it ...

Re: Sailwarehouse, full boat cover

I bought one of these Sailwarehouse covers last year. The picture shows it a bit loose, but you can tighten it up so all the water runs off. The cover is very well made, reinforced where it comes in contact with stanchions and the spreader, and has plenty of room for the furler sticking over the pul...

Re: A/C Install & Generator fears put to rest!

So now we have some Mac owners who have done research and posted about installing central AC units! Comes down to personal preference I guess.

Re: A/C Install & Generator fears put to rest!

Glad the AC is working for you!! I did upgrade mine from a 9000btu to a 12000btu and it works great for us. For another upgrade I just bought a 16000 btu reverse cycle AC, but that is attached to a Catalina 310!!

Re: 2006 MacGregor 26M Pinched Mast Channel Repair ?

I put two wide metal putty knives on the edges and tapped a cold chisel between them when that happened to me. Did not leave any marks.

Re: Confused about AC

I think that you may find that 6000 BTUs is a little light for a water cooled unit. I had a 5000 BTU window unit and it cooled the center area ok. Went a 9000 BTU mermaid water cooled unit and it was not enough. Swapped it out for a 12000 BTU unit and I can cool from bow to stern. I have my water in...

The first thing I would check would be my battery connections and clean them up if need be.

Re: Need to make a decision on make of motor

I have a 2007 E-Tec 90 on my M. It has been to the shop 1 time for a 3 year routine maint (due for it's 2nd maint). Did replace 1 bad plug at one time. Does not require any stern reinforcement. Can be rope started if needed and self winterizes. I have never had any problem at trolling speeds with it...

Re: air conditioning

I installed a 9000 btu Mermaid reverse cycle unit in my 2008 M. I have since upgraded to a 12000 btu unit (considering extending AC to enclosed cockpit area). The 9000 btu installed can be seen on http://boomboom2.blogspot.com/. I will load the pics of the 12000 upgrade ASAP. The only modifications ...

Bob,
If you go to http://boomboom2.blogspot.com, under AC install, about picture 15, there is a view of under the head that my duct work runs through

Re: Under Porta Potty

On a 26 M there is at least 6" and more below where the porta poty sits before you hit the bottom. look thru the seat opening under the mirror and you will see the space I have a 6" AC air duct running under there.

Re: Southport Sail

Also check and see if the power available at Wilmington City Docks is 30 or 50 amp. If they put you in a 50 amp area, you will need an adapter. We had issues with this before.
