Re: Mantus Anchors

I sold my Mac X last year am now driving a Hunter 34'. Thought about going up to a 45# but I'd have to haul it in :| I had a 22# Bruce on my Hunter 34. Worked great. Easy to retrieve and set. Like it so much so I bought one for my Mac. At 22lbs it's probably overkill, but the 16lb seemed too small....

I talked with the designer at the Miami Boat Show and he figured the 13lb may be enough for the Mac but recommended the 25lb to have a significant safety margin.

Re: Mantus Anchors

I received my 35# mantus just before Sandy struck. The folks over at sailnet had a big thread on it. there are a couple of well informed members who did some test and foud it to be great in holding in all types of bottom conditions. Can't wait to try it out.

Re: Anyone out there who has rewired their X?

I re-did my 02 X a few years back and the one thing I recall is that you cannot use the old wires to pull the new. It looks like the factory ran the wiring before they assemblied the hull and liner. in my case some of the wires were taped together and then ran different paths to the same point :? My...

Re: God is Mad at Me Again

If it was that close to the wires the power comp, MDOT or another agency might have removed it. I grew up in Alexandria, Va with an acre of old white oaks. we'd loose one every few years and most of them would be taken down for us. If anyone wonders about how difficult (read expensive) it is in MD t...

Re: Glug, glug, glug

And yet, a pound is a pound. A pound of lead weighs the same as a pound of water, or a pound of feathers. Just because no one esle has said it yet... A pound is not always a pound as in the old gag.. what weighs more a pound of feathers or a pound of gold? :D the answer of course is the pound of fe...

Re: Stereo memory wire to hot bus

Thanks for the replies. I thought something was fishy on the other forum when guys were draining their batteries. I just didn't think it would draw that much on the power wire when off! So memory wire and bildge pump to the hot battery bus it is. (fused of course) Looks like your compairing apples ...

Re: 26X in sales ad

yea, I don't think you''d need this with a Mac but might be useful on a keel boat but it doesn't look big enough to lift 5 to 7 thousand lbs of keel. Good to see the guys got a sense of humor though

Nice vid
Sunday at the show was also very slow compared to last year, surprised that Roger didn't show up again. The dealer that had been at the show in years past was absent also.
