Finally got up to my boat today. St. Johns River and associated Lake Monroe have been at the highest flood stage we have seen in recent decades. Levels are starting to recede slightly, but my admiral and I Had to be taken to my slip on "E" dock by water taxi from the marina fuel dock because the first section of the floating dock had sunk and the ramp to that section hangs down into the water.

During the water taxi trip, you could see seawalls just at the surface that normally stand several feet above water level.

The marina isle was just barely above water levels, and the marina manager related that the dry storage building had had a foot of water at the peak.

The outer half or "E" dock was totally missing.

The adjacent finger pier and previous neighboring pontoon boat were nowhere to be seen.

All the damage I had on American Spirit was a slightly torn engine cover and a ragged edge to my jib leech Sunbrella border/cover. The large orange twist ties help keep the jib furled.

All in all, I was profoundly thankful that there was no damage of any substance. Kudos to my friend, Lamar, and his two kids, Cooper and Carlee, who prepped the boat for Ian in my absence while I was away on an RV trip to California. Bravo Zulu, guys.

My chief complaint at this point is having a bat or two that homesteaded in my covered mainsail. Small worries considering.
